St. Joseph 40, Houston Second Baptist 30

HOUSTON - After tying in the first half, St. Joseph rolled in the second, beating Houston Second Baptist 40-30 with 430 yards of offense.
After falling behind in the first quarter, St. Joseph (3-1) scored twice in the second, first with a 22-yard run by Don Paul Dubose and then on a 57-yard pass from Kevin Daniels to Hayden Vesely. The Flyers went into the locker room a half with a 14-14 tie.
In the third quarter, the Eagles' (1-4) field goal was quickly answered by the Flyers when Daniels scored on a 27-yard run. Houston Second Baptist quickly responded with a touchdown, taking the lead 24-21 midway through the third quarter.
St. Joseph then responded with three unanswered touchdowns. Daniels first found Vesely again, this time for a 47-yard scoring pass.
Keving Ruelas then scored twice in row for the Flyers, first on a 29-yard run late in the third and on a 58-yard run in the fourth quarter.
St. Joseph's defense held the Eagle offense to only one touchdown in the fourth, helping give their team the win.
Besides his three touchdowns. Flyers quarterback Daniels rushed 11 times for 106 yards and threw for 120 yards, hitting six passes on 12 attempts with one interception.
Ruelas led the team rushing, going 166 yards on 20 carries.
