SIERRA BLANCA, Texas (AP) - The family of a 14-year-old runaway killed in a shootout with law enforcement earlier this year plans to sue county and state officials involving in the shooting.

Anthony Lucas died in an April 4 standoff with Hudspeth County deputies and Texas Parks and Wildlife officers. Gary Hill, attorney for his family, says the family has offered to settle the wrongful death suit for $10 million. If a settlement isn't reached, Hill says the family will sue.

State and county officials have declined to discuss the case.
