The League of Women Voters will conduct a candidates forum on Monday.
Candidates for the May 10 city council election and the Tuesday runoff election are expected to appear.
"We try to promote voter education," said Kathy Hunt, president of the League of Women Voters.
General voter information will also be provided in the league's voter guide. The Advocate will publish the candidates' answers to the leagues' questionnaire.
The event has invited local, state and federal candidates to the forum.
The audience will be able to meet and mingle with candidates before and after the forum.
"We encourage the audience and candidates to stay after," Hunt said.
Candidates will have two minutes to make an opening statement, she said.
"We then will take written questions from the audience," said Hunt, who adds people can e-mail her questions before the event.
The forum is bipartisan and is open to the public.
Voters guides are available at election offices, the Victoria Public Library, the VC/UHV library and in upcoming editions of the Advocate.
