Two sections of Laurent Street will be closed this week due to construction.

Laurent Street from Mesquite Lane to Crestwood Drive and the intersection of Laurent Street at Mesquite Lane will be closed from midnight to 7 a.m. Tuesday to allow workers to place concrete pavement on the southbound lanes. The work should take one night.

The west side of the intersection of Laurent Street at Mesquite Lane will close at 10 a.m. Thursday for about four weeks so workers can install utilities and concrete pavement at this intersection. The utility improvements and paving should be complete over this four week period, weather permitting.

Mesquite Lane can be accessed via Bluebonnet Drive, west of Laurent, and Azalea Street, east of Laurent.

All businesses and parking lots in the construction zone will remain accessible via alternate routes. On-street parking will be prohibited in the work zone.

This construction is part of the $6,171,007 Laurent Street Reconstruction Phase II Project. The contractor is Total Site of Houston.
