UHV takes two in Capital City Classic

Oklahoma City - Senior Tasha Rotramel fired a two-hit shutout over No. 25 Columbia College in the second game to lead the University of Houston-Victoria to a perfect day Friday in the Capital City Classic.

Rotramel was dominant, taking a perfect game into the sixth inning and allowing only 2 hits.

Rotramel is on a hot streak. In her past three starts dating back to last week, she has allowed only three hits and has three shutouts

The Jaguars earlier beat Evangel 13-4 behind the pitching of Baylea Wagener.

With the two wins, UHV improves to 31-13 on the season.

The Jaguars play two more games Saturday, at noon vs. William Wood, and at 2 p.m. vs. Central Baptist.
