Sacred Heart tennis finishes second at state

WACO - The Hallettsville Sacred Heart tennis team had a strong showing at the TAPPS state tournament this weekend, as the girls team placed second overall behind Marble Falls Faith Academy.

Sacred Heart had girls doubles teams finish second and third behind the No. 1 squad from Marble Falls.

Emma Gray and Alexandra Bludau finished second by beating Heritage Christian Academy, Marble Falls Faith Academy No. 2 and San Antonio Trinity Christian before falling to the top team from Marble Falls in the final.

Sacred Heart's team of Ariane Kubena and Jamie Vanek also fell to the Marble Falls team in the semifinals after beating Abilene Christian Academy and Dallas Fairhill.

Marianne Herndon went 1-1 in girls singles, while the boys doubles team of Colton Brown and Sterling Hrncir lost a tough opening match.
