Five seniors take the softball field Tuesday for the University of Houston-Victoria for their last regular season home games.
The Jaguars will honor the five as part of Senior Day in a doubleheader against Texas College.
No. 16 UHV is coming off a 2-2 weekend at the Capital City Classic in Oklahoma that left its record at 31-15.
The five seniors for UHV are:
Tasha Rotramel, pitcher. Rotramel has been paramount to the team's success the past two years. She has four no-hitters, including two this year. She is 14-10 this year with a 1.74 ERA.
Brittany Faas, catcher. Faas is the team's first, and only, three-year player to date. She's handled every game this season behind the plate, and has smashed four home runs.
Izzy Glowney, second base. Glowney has set the stage for UHV's offense all season. She gets on base (.340 average with 28 walks), she steals bases (29 steals, she scores runs (41) and she has some pop with four homers and 28 RBIs.
Claire McGee, left field. McGee is versatile and reliable. She usually starts in left field, but has played all three outfield positions and filled in at third base when Allison Hinton was injured in a game. She has 12 stolen bases, 19 runs and 16 RBIs.
Brittany Boren, shortstop. Boren's gift is defense, where she vacuums up everything hit her way. Boren also has been steady on offense, with a .297 batting average, 21 runs scored and 16 RBIs.
The seniors will be honored in a ceremony between games.
And Senior Day could also become an historic day for UHV. With a sweep, the Jaguars will notch victory No. 100 in their history in just their third year.
