Clubs and community members supporting Victoria East High school will kick off the school year with the first ever Unleash the Titans spirit event.

"We're going to have pride," said Miguel Torres, who spearheaded the event. "That's the foundation for everything, academics, athletics or fine arts."

More than 25 groups will be part of the event, which will feature school performances from dance and band groups, concessions and information booths. The police and fire departments will also be a part of the event.

The program will take place at Memorial Stadium and is open to all residents.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and activities are free.

Torres is expecting hundreds of people.

"It's just to show that we're going to unleash the beast," he said.
