Bridal Fair Extravaganza celebrates 10th anniversary

The annual Bridal Fair Extravaganza will be Sunday at the Victoria Mall.
As an added bonus, one lucky bride will walk away with $5,000 worth of wedding services from the event.
This marks the 10th anniversary for the bridal fair, organizer Annette Franco said, which has continued to grow and expand since it began.
"When we first started, we only had 10 vendors, so it's grown quite a bit and very fast," she added.
Forty-five vendors, both local and from the surrounding counties, will be at the event this year. Among the vendors will be photographers, videographers, wedding planners, rental companies, florists and even a balloon artist and a traveling Texas minister, Franco added.
Starting at 1 p.m., and continuing every hour on the hour, will be a bridal fashion show.
"The hot colors for fall weddings this year are deep colors, such as eggplant and peacock colors," she said. "Also popular are chocolate, pinks and lime green."
While many door prizes will be given out throughout the day, the main attraction will be the Grand Prize Giveaway, which consists of $5,000 worth of wedding services to the winning bride.
To enter, a bride has to donate school supplies in exchange for a ticket. For the smaller school items, one ticket will be given per item and for the bigger items, such as backpacks, one ticket will be given per dollar value, Franco said.
The winner will be announced at 4:45 p.m. and the bride must be present to win.
