Sally Rubio was recently certified as a clerk level 1 by the Texas Justice Court Training Center. The certification level recognizes training and competency to perform duties of a justice court clerk. Rubio works in the office of Robert B. Whitaker, Justice of Peace, Precinct 3.
Kathy Gardner, passed the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America assistive technology professional certification examination. This certification identifies Gardner as a service provider qualified to analyze the needs of consumers with disabilities, assist in selection of appropriate assistive technology for the consumer's needs, and provide training in the use of the selected device's including comprehensive seating, positioning and mobility needs.
Margaret Rice, chief of staff at the University of Houston-Victoria, recently was named Texas state co-coordinator for the American Council on Education Network of Women Leaders in Higher Education. In that role, she will help plan the Texas Women in Higher Education annual conference in the spring and will work to address issues of equity and advancement for and by women in higher education.
Sharon K. Whitley, licensed clinical social worker, has joined Uri L. Gonik, Ph.D. and Associates as an individual and family counselor. Whitley has years of medical and mental health experience in the Crossroads. She received her master's in social work from Our Lady of the Lake University. She has earned her licensed clinical social work status with the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners, and has earned licensure status as a LCSW supervisor.
