Thumbs-up, thumbs-down; it's your choice

Thumbs-up to all of the great administrators and teachers at Howell School who go out of their way to help the students and parents.
Thumbs-down to the VISD dress code. The dress code for VISD was definitely needed. However, girls having to wear belts is completely unnecessary and is not flattering to the majority. If you are not a skinny girl, having to wear a belt is not flattering. Girls are very conscientious of how they look and OMG wearing a belt with the cut of jeans today is a horrible look! So unnecessary. This issue needs to be addressed. Speak out parents!
Thumbs-up to whoever got the attention of the people who run the Four Corners Bar and Grill. The American Flag lay on the roof for quite awhile and the Texas Flag was on your left facing the building. New flags were put up and they were put up correctly - the American Flag on the left and the Texas Flag on the right. Thank you for taking care of this.
Thumbs-down to the Victoria Advocate for not listing all of the pro rodeo leaders on the same day. I had to wait a three-day period to get all of them. Why not wait until there is space to input them all on the same day?
Thumbs-down: Muslims have a right to their beliefs, but do not have the right to impose them on those of other faiths. Ergo, a Mosque at the 9/11 site is an outrageous insult to ALL Americans of other faiths whose relatives were victims of Muslim terrorism. So thumbs-down with both hands on such insensitive and insulting un-American tactics.
Thumbs-down to the fact that our police force has to spend time arresting people over and over again for violation of probation or parole.
Thumbs-down to the Texas tax-free weekend being the last weekend before school starts in most surrounding areas. Most people shop for school two or three weeks before the first day of school.
