Container found at Bloomington rail yard free of narcotics

BLOOMINGTON - The "container of interest" found during a multi-force law enforcement operation at the Bloomington rail yard did not hold any contraband.
Lt. Russell Sherman, of the Corpus Christi Police Department, said Union Pacific Railroad police opened the container Thursday after canines honed in on it during a search of rail cars.
Sherman said it's possible the container held narcotics in the past, as the dogs would be able to smell the residue.
The container was found as part of a two-night operation executed by more than dozen law enforcement agencies that inspected trains at their regularly scheduled stop in Bloomington.
