Riverside Trade Center hosting free Saturday event

For the past month, the Riverside Trade Center, formerly known as the Riverside Convention Center, has been using a large part of the venue to hold a free indoor vendors market every weekend. This Saturday, they're getting in the holiday spirit and adding a few extras, owner Homer Escalante said.
In addition to the regular vendor booths selling everything from floral arrangements to antiques, the Scott Taylor Band will be performing at 1 p.m., and from noon to 3 p.m., patrons will get the chance to visit with Santa and Mrs. Clause and children can have their photo taken with 'Ole St. Nick. Door prizes also will be given away every hour, Escalante said.
"We have a lot of permanent booths that sell everything from handmade crafts to jewelry to collectibles," he added. "We've been open as a trade center for about a month now, building it up. With all this space, it just seemed to make sense to turn it into a vendors market and make it something more family-oriented."
The trade center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday and is free to the public, including this Saturday's event. The center also still has available space for vendors and monthly, weekly and daily rates available.
