Snaps all around. "Legally Blonde: The Musical" is on tour and will be coming to the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio this January.
Based on the hit movie starring Reese Witherspoon, the story centers around sorority star Elle Woods, who gets dumped by her boyfriend for someone more serious and decides to follow him to Harvard Law School. More known for her credit card swiping abilities and hot pink accessories than her study habits, Elle struggles to fit in with the tough academic atmosphere, but finds out along the way that being yourself never goes out of style, according to the Majestic Theatre website.
Nikki Bohne, a recent graduate of Brigham Young University, is the star of the show, which relaunched its national tour in September in Mississippi, according to www.playbill.com.
The music and lyrics are by Laurence O'Keefe ("Bat Boy: The Musical," "Heathers," "Sarah, Plain and Tall") and Nell Benjamin ("Cam Jansen," "Sarah, Plain and Tall") and the book is by Heather Hach (the film "Freaky Friday").
The show will be at the Majestic from Jan. 18-23. Tickets are $20.75 and up and are available by calling 1-800-745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
