City begins spraying for mosquitoes
July 7, 2010 at 2:07 a.m.
The Victoria Parks and Recreation Department began fogging the city Wednesday to reduce and control mosquitoes.
It takes about three days of fogging to cover the entire city. The spraying process requires light winds and no rainfall to begin and will continue as long as the mosquito problem persists.
Residents can help keep the mosquito population under control by draining anything outdoors that is a potential breeding place for mosquitoes such as old tires, pet water bowls, poorly maintained pools, birdbaths, potted plants and clogged rain gutters.
