Victoria retail sales see increase

It's the billion-dollar question: Is the recession over?
One positive indicator in Victoria: Retail sales are up.
No one knows whether the trend is short-term or around to stay, or even what exactly led to consumers opening up their wallets, said Joe Harper, director of the University of Houston-Victoria Small Business Development Center.
It appears, however, that consumer confidence is up.
"We don't know if it's because of media hype or if people are burnt out from hearing about how bad it is and suddenly realized that all the things they're hearing are not as bad in their own life," Harper said. "But it's a good sign people are actually spending more money." H1
