GOLIAD - An expert on historical Tejano leaders, including some in the Crossroads area, is coming to Goliad.

The Goliad County Historical Commission will host a lecture by Jesús F. de la Teja, a professor and chair of the Department of History at Texas State University in San Marcos, at 6 p.m. Friday, July 23.

De la Teja will discuss his latest book, "Tejano Leadership in Mexican and Revolutionary Texas," which highlights 11 leading Tejanos.

Four of those are from the Goliad and Victoria area - Carlos de la Garza, Rafael Manchola, Plácido Benavides and Fernando de León.

De la Teja will have copies of his book to purchase for $20 at the lecture, which will be at First United Methodist Church, 134 W. Pearl St.
