Gas spill from two vehicle wreck closes Main Street at Red River Street

A two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Main and Red River streets closed down traffic in all lanes on Monday morning.
Around 11:10 a.m., a black Ford Explorer was eastbound on Red River, when its driver sped up to try and beat a yellow light, Officer Travis Hanson said.
The Explorer ended up T-boning a Chevrolet truck that was traveling north on Main Street.
The crash busted the Chevrolet's gas tank, causing a large amount of the truck's gasoline to spill onto the road.
The Victoria Fire Department was on hand to clean up the scene.
Cleanup was still underway around 11:45 a.m.
