It's a tale as old as time and now, you can see it live on stage.
Disney's Broadway production of their classic animated film, "Beauty and the Beast," is hitting the road on a U.S. tour and will be stopping through San Antonio Oct. 12-17 at Majestic Theatre.
This unconventional love story centers around Belle, a young woman living in a provincial town, and a prince who is cursed to live out his days as a beast unless he can learn to love and be loved, according to the production's official website, www.beautyandthebeastontour.com.
The original Broadway show was a huge success and the original creators of the production have teamed back up for the tour.
"It has been wonderful to bring the entire original design team back together to work on this new production of Beauty and the Beast," director Rob Roth said on the website. "As a director, it is rare to have the opportunity to revisit your work 15 years later. Hopefully, I've grown and developed as an artist, along with my collaborators, and we can bring 15 years of experience to this new production."
The production also features all the original music from the animated film, with a score by Alan Menken and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman.
Tickets range in price from $52.75 to $65.75 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000.
