Cuero shooting suspects identified, sought by police

CUERO - Two teenagers are sought by police in connection with the shooting Wednesday night of two Cuero brothers.

Broderick Markez Jackson and Shakael Lee Mayfield, both 18, are wanted on attempted murder charges as well as numerous other counts, according to a news release from DeWitt County Crime Stoppers.

Jackson is 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds with a tattoo of Jesus on his right forearm. Mayfield is 6 feet tall, 230 pounds. Both are described as black.

The general public should never attempt to apprehend any wanted subject, according to the news release.

Anyone who knows anything about this crime is asked to contact DeWitt County Crime Stoppers anonymously 24 hours a day at 361-275-0880.

If the information leads to an arrest and grand jury indictment, Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward up to $1,000.
