Victoria County Clerk's office to upgrade records management system

Victoria County is replacing the outdated records management system in the county clerk's office.
On Tuesday, county commissioners approved the purchase from Manatron, Inc.
Implementation of the system, support services and software cost $97,406. In addition, equipment purchase and maintenance fees brought the total expenditure to $106,200.
The county clerk's office handles a wide variety of records and documents including, among others, deeds, birth and death certificates, wills and probate and marriage licenses.
The new system will automate some procedures currently performed manually.
John Sestak, the county's information technology director, recommended the upgrade, telling commissioners the current system was installed in 1998.
The new system will work with current technology like e-docket and e-filing, Sestak said.
Conversion to the new system is scheduled to begin in July and be completed by November, Sestak said.
