Justin Bieber

Hey, music fans,

Seems like every year, there's a new pandemic.

Last year, it was the swine flu.

This year, it's "Bieber Fever."

Justin Bieber is ... well ... everywhere.

His popularity has taken the world by storm, capturing the attention of mostly elementary schoolers and tweens around the world.

Earlier this year, a newspaper in Australia reported that 10 frenzied girls fainted at a Justin Bieber concert, forcing him to cancel the rest of this show.

Girls all over the world were also stumbling over each other to purchase his latest album, "My World 2.0," in hopes of winning a golden ticket. The grand-prize ticket winner and up to three guests will attend an exclusive concert by Justin in the Bahamas, all expenses paid. The second-place winner will attend a Justin Bieber video shoot. The contest ended April 23.

He also has 3,000,000 followers on Twitter.

See what I mean?

Even if you haven't heard his music, you've probably seen this squeaky clean, shaggy-haired 16-year-old Canadian kid (but looks like he's 12) plastered on a poster somewhere, on YouTube, or on television, and didn't know it was him.

That, my friend, is Justin Bieber, who was first discovered on YouTube, covering songs of other artists.

But it seems like he's got the facts to back up his popularity.

In fact, Bieber did an impromptu audition with Usher, which led him to a recording contract.

Billboard credits Bieber as being the youngest solo male artist to have a No. 1 album- "My World 2.0" - since 1963 by then 13-year-old Stevie Wonder.

Singles like "Baby," "Eenie Meenie" with Sean Kingston, "One Less Lonely Girl," and "One Time," have all peaked in the Top 20 on the Billboard charts.

Let's just hope his mom makes sure all his homework is done before his next concert.
