The meeting is open to the public.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality will hold a public meeting Tuesday on the Environmental Protection Agency's upcoming reduction of the ozone standard.
On Aug. 31, the federal agency will announce a new standard between 60 parts per billion and 70 parts per billion. Victoria is at 66 parts per billion.
Victoria is among several new areas in Texas that may fall out of attainment when the new standard is announced later this year.
Other cities at risk of becoming new non-attainment areas include Austin, San Antonio, Waco, the Lower Rio Grande Valley and possibly Corpus Christi.
The new standard could have an impact on local businesses, such as gas stations and chemical plants, which may be forced to adopt new practices or face government sanctions.
