Weighing in on Father's Day

FACTS ABOUT FATHER'S DAY:
There are about 67.8 million fathers across the United States.
The average person will spend $94.32 on Father's Day this year.
Nationwide, Father's Day spending is expected to reach $9.8 billion.
Spokane, Wash. resident Sonora Dodd proposed the idea of Father's Day in 1909 but the first presidential proclamation didn't go out until 1966.
The holiday has been celebrated annually since 1972.

Mom got her day in May and kids - well, they get their day all the time.
But, on Sunday, it's time to pay homage to the man of the house, the guy always there with a shoulder for support, a football to toss and a corny joke to tell. In other words, it's Father's Day.
And, here, kids explain what they like most about their dads, while fathers discuss what they enjoy most about parenthood.
Q: What do you like most about your dad?
A: We play with building blocks. I like to build Eiffel Towers.

A: He takes me hunting for deer and ducks. I like spending time with him.

Q: What do you like most about being a dad?
A: I like being at the park with my kids, making sure they have a good time. I think my favorite thing is just spending time with them.

A: I enjoy raising them, trying to teach them the right ways. I just love my kids.

A: Going on vacation with the family. My kids are 4 and 6 and are getting to the age where they can run around. I love taking them to the beach.
