Turner, McGaheran named TCL players of the week

Relief pitcher Ryan Turner and middle infielder Brandon McGaheran were both selected as TCL players of the week, the Generals announced Thursday.

Turner was named pitcher of the third week of the season. He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 49th round of this year's draft.

McGaheran, a sophomore from Lehigh, was selected as the co-player of the week for the third week. He is leading the team with a .386 batting average and a .474 on-base percentage.

Victoria is currently in first place in the TCL with a record of 11-6 after sweeping three games from the Alexandria Aces. McGaheran played a big role in thr sweep by having multiple hits in each game in Alexandria.

Turner has held teams scoreless in his seven innings of work so far this season.

Game against McKinney cancelled because of rain

Thursday's road game in McKinney was called because of rain. No make up time or date have been announced.

Victoria returns home Saturday when they open a two game series with the Brazos Valley Bombers.

Generals set to hold camp this Saturday

The Generals will be holding a baseball camp Saturday morning prior to its game that evening.

Current players and coaches Chris Clemons and James Hipp will run the camp at Riverside Stadium, which runs from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration is $10 for each entrant.
