Edna man wins $1 million in lottery scratch off game

Santiago Zarate of Edna won $1 million in the state lottery's Gold Rush scratch-off game.

Smitty's Food Mart in Inez, where he bought the winning ticket, will receive a $10,000 retailer bonus, according to a news release from the lottery commission.

The Gold Rush game was introduced in February. Zarate is the second top prize winner. One more million-dollar prize remains, according to the release.
