Eat, drink and be merry while helping local students

The third annual Taste of Rockport event will be March 25, and organizers have high hopes that it will raise much needed money for local students.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Rockport, proceeds from the event go to benefit the Charles E. Evans Scholarship Fund, and this year it's expected to raise more than $15,000, according to a news release.
The evening will include a wide variety of cuisine from local restaurants, as well as wine tastings, a live auction, a raffle valued at $1,000, a cash bar and live music by the Ruben Limas Duo.
Among the restaurants and caterers from the area that will be participating are Alice Fayes on the Bay, Charlotte Plummer's, Black Tie Affairs Catering, Kendrick Farms Barbeque, Hemingway's, Jama's Kitchen, EuroPizza, Poor Man's Country Club, Paradise Key, Martin Ulisee Imports, Bellino's Italian Cuisine and Rockport Bakery.
Over the years, the Rotary Club has awarded more than $40,000 in scholarships to local seniors at Rockport-Fulton High School, according to the news release.
