A Chevy pickup was involved in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Navarro and Rio Grande Streets on Wednesday.

An 89-year-old Victoria man is to blame for a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Navarro and Rio Grande streets on Wednesday morning, according to police.

At 9:45 a.m., Fred Abix traveled north on Navarro Street in his gray Chevy pickup when he attempted to turn left onto Rio Grande Street.

Meanwhile, Placedo resident Frank Gonzalez, 39, traveled southbound in his black truck on Navarro Street.

Officer Travis Hanson said witnesses told him Abix attempted to turn from the inside lane rather than the turning lane.

Abix was ticketed for turning from the wrong lane and failure to yield the right away.

No injuries were reported. It's unknown if either driver wore a seatbelt.
