The University of Houston-Victoria softball team returns home this weekend to play two doubleheaders.

Saturday, the No. 15 Jaguars take on conference foe Louisiana State University-Alexandria (5-22) at Burdge Field. Sunday, UHV plays Texas Wesleyan (14-9).

The Jaguars, 18-10, want to complete a weekend sweep, said Coach Keri Lambeth.

UHV has struggled at times against ranked teams, so the team wants to get healthy against a pair of non-ranked teams.

One problem for the Jaguars has been scoring runs in key situations, Lambeth said.

"We need to score early and often," Lambeth said. "One of our goals is to score every inning. We have yet to accomplish that, but we are working towards that. We have to be able to push the runs across."

Offensively, third baseman Allison Hinton leads the Jaguars with a .370 average, 6 homers and 24 RBI. Tasha Rotramel leads the Jaguars' pitchers, with 8 wins and a 2.27 ERA.
