Refugio County Fair and Livestock Show auction brings in $259,201

REFUGIO - The sale at the Refugio County Fair and Livestock Show was about average this year.

This year's sales were at $259,201, said Jerry Gray, county extension agent.

"I would say it was about average," he said. "I wouldn't say it was up or down. It was on par with the past couple of years."

The expectations were met, he added.

Last year they made $267,000 minus add ons.

Kodye Neel's grand champion steer sold for $6,500 to Charro Operating.

Quentin Bellows' grand champion lamb sold for $5,500. Buyers were Oak Lease Service, Dewey Bellows Consulting and Merrill Lease Service.

Trace Mascorro's grand champion hog sold for $3,000 to Butler Oil Tool Co.

Madison Preston's grand champion goat sold for $3,250 to Coby and Diana Knox and family.

Dalton Klare's grand champion turkey sold for $2,000. Buyers were Buck Kelley, Charro Operating, Johnny and Ditty Gold, Morgan O'Brien, Basic Energy Service, Bo and Ruthie Henderson, Discount Auto Parts, H-E-B, Hallettsville Livestock Comission, J&W Cattle company, James S. Kelley, Jane Rainey, John and Anita Barber, John and Boogie Barber, LB Contracting, Mary Kathryn O'Brien, Mick O'Brien, Park Dixon, Ronnie and Lisa Williams, Scooter Kamm PT, Veronica and Ramiro Rocha Jr.

Ti Beall's grand champion broilers sold for $2,750. Buyers were Ag Med Supply, Beeville Livestock Commission, Atzenhoffer Chevrolet and Cadillac.

Derek Ressman's grand champion rabbits sold for $2,000. Buyers were Anonymous Amigos and Betty Bauer.

H.C. Neel's reserve champion steer sold for $4,250 to Atzenhoffer Chevrolet and Cadillac.

Shelby Bellows' reserve champion lamb sold for $5,499. Buyers were Quinn Pump and Supply, Border Swabbing and Energy Gas Compression.

Paige Winginton's reserve champion hog sold for $2,999 to CDM RM.

Taylor Bellows' reserve champion goat sold for $3,249. Buyers were Dewey Bellows Consulting, Hunt Oilfield Supply, C.C. Forbes Co., South Texas Oilfield Maintenance.

Morgan Klaevemann's reserve champion turkey sold for $1,999 to Butler Engineering and Consulting.

Logan Myers' reserve champion broilers sold for $2,749 to Bart and Donna Lindemann.

Summer Hesseltine's reserve champion rabbits sold for $1,999 to Refugio County Farm Bureau.
