St. Joseph baseball loses area playoff to Fort Bend Baptist

SUGAR LAND - The St. Joseph Flyers lost to Sugar Land Fort Bend Baptist 4-3 Monday in TAPPS 4A area playoff action.

The loss ends the Flyer season.

Kevin Daniels hit a home run on the third pitch of the game Monday to give the Flyers an early lead, but St. Joseph would strand 10 runners in the game.

Hayden Vesely took the mound for St. Joseph and pitched a complete game, scattering five hits while striking out six batters. The loss drops his record to 8-1 on the year.

Brayden Blanton had a solid game for the Flyers going 1-2 with an RBI.

St. Joseph finished 17-11 this season.
