Q: When was the last time Ramon Ayala y sus Bravos del Norte performed in Victoria?
A: Two years ago and he wanted to come back so he asked me to look into dates in which families could enjoy. Mother's Day worked perfectly since he will be in Fort Worth on Friday and Corpus Christi on Saturday.
Q: After so many years in the music industry, what keeps him going?
A: Ramon doesn't change his music. He continues with the accordion. Eighty percent of all music uses the accordion from Italian, Polish. The whole world uses it. It's him.
Q: How are his concerts different than others?
A: People know when they attend, he doesn't try different things. He has had at least four to five hits on each of his CDs, 50 with his group and 50 collaboration CD. People are going to hear hit after hit.
Q: Over generations how has his audience changed?
A: There's a lot of youth who follow his music. It is why we are also performing near colleges, last week we were near Notre Dame.
Q: How long will this tour last?
A: Until the end of the year, but Ramon takes December off. He fills an 18-wheeler with gifts to pass out to children in Hidalgo. He enjoys helping the children.
