Question of the Day: Should the public be able to hear police scanner traffic about wrecks, emergencies?
May 10, 2010 at 12:10 a.m.
A: Yes. When my father was a reserve deputy we did it all the time. It made me more aware and I felt a little safer. It also gave me more respect for the law.
Laura Light, college student, Victoria
A: No. They are a nuisance. They only cause the police problems with looky-loos.
Billie Price, customer service, Bloomington
A: No because people tend to want to go and see what's going on and that hinders the action of the police and EMS.
Winnie Bullock, teacher, Inez
A: Yes, I think they should be able to. Not for criminal purposes, but for general information.
