A Victoria teen worked with actor Gary Coleman in 2008 during the filming of his last movie "Midgets Vs. Mascots."
Coleman, 42, died Friday.
Matthew Lemke, 17, found out about his co-star's death from his mother as he worked on his truck.
"It was a little sad. He was all right. He was kind of mean but cool," said Matthew, who during filming spent time with the actor.
"We were with Coleman from the beginning of the day to the end of the day," said Faith Lemke, his mom.
The movie was filmed in Dallas.
His mother said she had to tell her son of Coleman's acting on Diff'rent Strokes.
The 17-year-old said the movie was a fun experience.
Matthew said he played a kid who was approached by a gator mascot trying to sell him a T-shirt gun to shoot at midgets.
"We shared a few little laughs," said Matthew, who plans to continue pursuing an acting career.
