A man burning a controlled fire off of Farm-to-Market Road 236 accidentally caught his barn on fire, Friday.
The man, whose name was not released, was burning dead grass around the tin barn in the 1,000 block of Albrecht Road when it began burning inside, said Fire Marshal Ron Pray.
"There was a boat and some miscellaneous items stored in the barn," Pray said.
The fire happened at about 4:30 p.m., and no one was hurt.
Most of the damage was done to the inside of the barn, Pray said.
An investigation will continue as to what inside the barn caused the fire to spread so fast, Pray added.
