In an Old West-inspired event, the Victoria Convention & Visitors Bureau will unveil three new boot designs made specifically for the city as part of its Bring Your Boots campaign, according to a news release.
At high noon on Nov. 16, the boots will be revealed via a stagecoach drawn by horses at De Leon Plaza. The bureau has partnered with the Lucchese Boot Company to design the boots, which will be available at High Brehm Western Wear starting Nov. 17. City officials and representatives from Lucchese will be at the event, and a city proclamation marking the day as "Joseph Lucchese Day" will be read, according to the release.
"The Victoria Boot is the biggest part of this campaign," bureau director Bridgette Bise said. "It brings the campaign full circle and gives the citizens something they can purchase locally to be the 'walking brand' of this community as well as a great souvenir for visitors to leave the city with. And it only makes sense to partner with Lucchese Boot Company since one the Lucchese brothers, Joseph Lucchese, made boots here in Victoria at the beginning of the 20th century."
The three boot designs were made for both men and women and will range in price from $300-$500, Bise added. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the boots will be donated back to an unnamed Victoria organization, which will be announced at the Nov. 16 event.
