New options will soon be available for Crossroads-area sweet tooths.

Kountry Bakery will open in December at 6005 N. Main St., offering up a variety of doughnuts, pastries, kolaches and more.

Victoria seemed a good option for a company that was looking to grow, said Kalan Besetsny, who manages Kountry Bakery in Hallettsville.

"I know we've got a lot of Victoria customers," he said. "We just wanted to expand a little and see what we can do."

The new site, run by Justin Bujnoch, will have a drive-thru window and seating for about 12 people, Besetsny said. It will focus on getting customers in and out quickly.

Kountry Bakery will bake items at the Hallettsville location and ship them to Victoria fresh Monday through Saturday. It will remain closed Sunday.

The Hallettsville-based company got its start 31 years ago and opened a Schulenburg location in 1985. It operated a Victoria site for nearly 20 years.
