The Victoria County Genealogical Society met Nov. 8 at the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall. Kenneth Booth, president, called the meeting to order and introduced the program speakers for the evening. James Lucas shared his research knowledge about Black Cemetery Research in Victoria and DeWitt counties. Louis Rodrigues explained what was being done to preserve the McFaddin Cemetery in the community of McFaddin.

The Society will have a Christmas party on Dec. 13 at the Church Fellowship Hall starting at 6 p.m. with a Mexican supper. Bob Heinonen will present the program "A Cowboy's Christmas."

Members and guests are asked to donate $5 or bring canned goods to be given to the Victoria Food Bank at the party. Members and future members are urged to pay their 2011 membership dues of $20 at the party.
