The Nuclear Regulatory Commission wants to hear what the people of Victoria think about Exelon Nuclear.
Though there are still no plans to build in Victoria at this point, the company is pursuing an Early Site Permit from the NRC, giving them the option to build in the future.
The permit would give Exelon the option of building a plant in Victoria for the next 20 years.
As part of the permit process, NRC representatives will be on hand on Thursday to give the public the chance to bring any possible environmental issues to the attention of agency representatives.
This is the second step in the permit process. NRC representatives held a similar meeting looking at a safety review in April.
Those who wish to speak at this meeting must arrive at least 15 minutes before the meeting starts to register to speak. People may also register in advance to speak at the meeting by calling 800-368-5642.
For this step in the process there will be two sessions. The first begins at 1 p.m. and the second begins at 7 p.m. Both sessions will be at the Victoria Community Center Dome, 2905 E. North St.
