East's Morales finishes second at meet

FLORESVILLE - Victoria East's Leesa Morales finished second in the girls division Saturday at the Floresville Invitational cross country meet.

Morales had a time of 13 minutes and 22 seconds.

East's Ann Keese finished 26th in a time of 14:53, and Victoria West's Laura Zuniga was 28th in 17:56.

Todd Mickey finished 20th for the West boys in a time of 16:39.

West's Brandon Cantu finished 34th in a time of 17:26, Devon Thedford was 59th in 18:31, and Michael Mikulenka was 99th in 23:37.

Brandon Hoelsher finished 46th in 18:02 and Casey Brown was 69th in 18:55 for the East boys, who finished 12th in the team standings.

In the junior varsity girls division, West's Mallory Draper was fourth in 15:10 and Blanca Mendoza was 17th in 17:31.

West's Brandon Verala was 12th in the boys JV division in 17:56.

Skidmore-Tynan Meet

SKIDMORE - Karnes City's Robin Garcez won the girls division at the Skidmore-Tynan Invitational.

Garcez had a time of 13:00.

St. Joseph's Kristin Sontheimer was fourth in a time of 13:16.

Nicole Sontheimer had a time of 14:08, Annie Gilliam was 33rd in 14:57, Emily Janak was 55th in 16:18 and Ally Lozano was 71st in 17:55 for the Lady Flyers, who finished seventh.

Kaitlyn Cantu (19:46) and Katherine Scharr (19:37) also ran for the Lady Flyers.

Jonathan Hernandez paced the Flyers by finishing 18th in 19:36.

Chris Wenske was 28th in 20:12, Tito Sandigo was 29th in 20:13, Chris Mason was 39th in 21:12, and Sam Poland was 61st in 23:36 for the Flyers, who finished sixth.
