Theatre Victoria's Producing Artistic Director Charles Moster has announced the cast for the theater's upcoming holiday production, "Christmas Belles."

The play is a comedy written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten.

"Our auditions attracted some amazing talents from across the Coastal Bend, and it was extremely exciting to find there was so much interest in our theater and this great show, in particular," said Moster.

This Southern holiday comedy, which is the second part of a trilogy of plays, is set in the small town of Fayro, Texas, and provides a glimpse into the lives of the Futrelle sisters - Frankie, Twink and Honey Raye. As the audience gets to know this squabbling trio, they find their church's pageant spinning wildly out of control as the sisters try to "get a grip."

In the meantime, an ailing Santa, a vengeful sheep and a reluctant Elvis-impersonator, along with a family secret, are attempting to derail the entire production. And, on top of everything else, the pageant is going to be shown live on Fayro's cable access television channel for the first time ever.

"This is a great play for the holiday season," Moster said, "and one, I believe, offers a hilarious holiday journey through a misadventure-filled Christmas Eve and guaranteed to bring joy to your world."

The production's cast includes: Ruth Stock as the ruthless Geneva Musgrave, the ousted director of the Tabernacle of the Lamb's previous 27 productions; Keisha Ringland as Honey Raye Futrelle, plagued with the inconveniences of menopause; Gayle Gainer as Twink Futrelle, recently jilted and bitter; and Pauline Rivera as Frankie Futrelle Dubberly, weeks overdue with her second set of twins.

Also in the cast is Mary K. Rabe as Rhonda Lynn Lampley, manager of the local Dairy Dog; Christy Uresti as Patsy Price, Fayroe's leading society maven; and Caitlin Klare as G. J. Dubberly, Frankie and Dub's daughter.

Rounding out the troupe is Johnny Vera as John Curtis, the sheriff; James Reinhardt as Dub Dubberly, the part-time celebrity Santa Claus at the local Super Smart Mart who has just passed a kidney stone; Ryan Tucker as Justin Wavery, interim pastor of the Tabernacle of the Lamb; and Walter Womack as Raynerd Chisum, part-time employee of the Dairy Dog and just a crayon or two shy of a full box.

During intermission, local carolers will perform and hot apple cider and chilled eggnog will be served.
