With the weather turning cooler, it is once again safe to venture outdoors without the fear of re-enacting the witch's melting scene from "Wizard of Oz." And what better way to celebrate fall's glorious temperatures than enjoying an ice cold beverage and some slow-cooked barbecue in the great outdoors?

Lu Raq's Restaurant & Beer Garden boasts one of the largest outdoor patios in Victoria. In addition to a large stage that hosts many local bands, the patio also has a sand volleyball court, horseshoes and washer pits. The outdoor Beer Garden entertainment schedule for the next few weeks includes Backtraxx on Friday, Chase Brown on Oct. 22, Bobby Allen and 87 South on Oct. 23 and a Halloween Extravaganza that will feature a wild game barbecue and chili cook-off on Oct. 30.

Inside, you'll find a large airy room with large tables and eight flat screen TVs to watch your favorite sporting events (FOOTBALL!) and also a menu that includes barbecued meat of all kinds, southern fried catfish and a speciality called "The Meaty Potato," which is a baked potato filled with chopped brisket, chicken or pulled pork (or, in other words, heaven). Not to mention, a fully stocked bar for your adult drinking pleasure.

Lu Raq's, 13861 U.S. Highway 77 North, also hosts a Bike Night every Thursday.
