CUERO - Crossroads music lovers have an opportunity to enjoy some mid-week entertainment from a duo with South Texas roots that is gaining national attention.
The Fabulous Ginn Sisters, Tiffani and Brit, will not only perform Wednesday night at the Courtyard Gallery in Cuero, but also have a CD release party for their latest effort "You Can't Take A Bad Girl Home."
The pair, natives of Schulenburg who also spend time in Austin when not on the road, performed in June with the Fred Eaglesmith Band on "Late Night with David Letterman."
The new CD, self-decribed as "a smoky, drunken stumble through a broken-heart junkyard," is their first release since 2006.
They heard about Courtyard Gallery's third Saturday acoustic jam sessions and chose the venue for the CD release.
"They sound as if there are like-minded people there," Tiffani said. "It's sounded like a great place to play."
The sisters have been playing music "like forever," said Tiffani, 32, during a telephone interview Monday afternoon.
"We grew up singing and playing and just stuck with it," she said.
She said the appearance on Letterman's show was a "blast."
"It was so much fun," she said. "We grew up watching Letterman so being on his show fulfilled one of our dreams."
The duo - Brit is 13 months younger - plays about 200 shows a year, mostly festivals and small venues.
"We always come back home to Schulenburg," Tiffani said.
