Another alligator may have been sighted in a public lake.

Just weeks after Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens fished an alligator from Ethel Lee Tracy Park lake, releasing it south of town into the Guadalupe River, a gator was reported in the duck pond of Riverside Park, 476 McCright Drive.

Victoria City Parks and Recreation director Doug Cochran said his office received a third-hand report of an alligator spotted in the park a few weeks ago. They reported the gator sighting to Texas Parks and Wildlife and send people out daily to see if they could spot it.

Texas Parks and Wildlife district supervisor Rex Mayes said they haven't seen any sign of a gator.

"It probably just moved on through," Mayes said.

Signs warning, "Beware of Alligator," were posted as a precaution, Cochran said, but they are considering taking them down.
