Wilfred Korth, manager of the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority's Coleto Creek Park, received the 2010 Texas Nature Tourism Award.
He received the individual achievement award from Miles Phillips, the Texas Nature Tourism Council's 2010 chair, at the Texas Travel Industry Association's annual travel summit in Galveston for his work in developing and promoting nature tourism within the region.
The award honors individuals who show outstanding support of nature tourism, help conserve wildlife and support economic wellbeing and quality of life for their employees and area citizens.
Korth has managed the park and recreation activities at the Coleto Creek Reservoir for more than 30 years.
"This is an extreme honor, knowing the quality of nature tourism operations and operations across the state of Texas," he said.
Korth, a Texas Master Naturalist, is a member of numerous area organizations, including the Goliad County Chamber of Commerce, Coastal Bend Regional Tourism Council, Canoe Trail Goliad and the Missions Tour Bike Ride.
