I bet you hear Trick or Treat a lot around this time of year. Well, this will be a treat with no tricks. There are several events coming up in the next few weeks that may be of interest. Some of these events can help you work off those calories from all that candy eating and others are just plain fun.
The Texas Zoo just completed its Zoo Boo; however, you can still have a haunting good time at the Twilight Zooclipse on Oct. 29-30 at the Zoo, of course. The cost is $5 per person and the event begins at 7 p.m. This scary event will feature a haunted zoo. For more information, contact the Texas Zoo at 361-573-7681.
Saturday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 a.m. will be the annual Living in the Light 5K/10K Run Walk benefiting Hospice of South Texas. The 5K race is a challenging flat course that is fast. The 10K is a little more challenging. Besides being longer it will feature a hill and other challenges. Early entry deadline is at the end of the month. You can register online at www.acitve.com or www.hospiceofsouthtexas.org or www.livinginthelightrun.org. For more information on cost and race times, call 361-572-4300.
The Lighted Christmas Parade entry deadline is Nov. 22. Get your entry forms at www.victoriatx.org/parks/TheLightedChristmasParade.asp.
