James E. Vass

James E. Vass

James E. Vass, of Port O'Connor, has been elected to the position of National Commodore for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

He is also a member of the local Victoria Auxiliary Flotilla 7-10. Vass joined the auxiliary in 1991. He was the 2008-10 vice national commodore and has served at many levels of both elected and appointed leadership. He is also a member of the Coastal Conservation Association and is an avid hunter and fisherman.

Leo L. Bell has made Master Sergeant. Bell has served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force.

He is the son of Otis Bell Sr., of Oklahoma City, and Beatrice Kay, of Victoria.

Pvt. Trey Tyson Macias Bell has completed basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky.

He is the son of Otis G. Bell Jr., of Victoria, and Virginia Macias Garcia and Alfred Garcia, of Victoria. Bell is the grandson of Beatrice Kay, of Victoria.
