CORPUS CHRISTI - Calhoun was in fine form, generating 448 yards of offense against the Tuloso-Midway Warriors.
Brandon Griffith led the Sandcrab offense, scoring three touchdowns on runs of 1, 10 and 47 yards. He also rushed for 116 yards on 9 carries, averaging 13 yards per carry.
Also scoring for Calhoun (2-1) was quarterback Joseph Bargas, rushing for one score on a two-yard run, and then hitting Derek Sowa on an 83-yard pass play.
Devian Cantu rushed six times for 80 yards and scored on a 3-yard run. Cory Williams put up another score for Calhoun with a 45-yard run. He carried the ball five times for 70 yards.
Kicker Noble Mu put up three for the Sandcrabs with a 34-yard field goal and hit six of seven extra points.
The Warriors, however, gave a strong offensive performance, generating 443 yards of offense.
Quarterback Jonathan Igelsias passed for 260 yards, hitting 17 of 33 passes with two interceptions and two touchdowns, one going for 90 yards. Both his scoring passes went to Reuben Galvez, who pulled in eight passes for 164 yards.
Tuloso-Midway (0-3) also got a strong performance from Kenny Smith, who rushed 13 times for 100 yards and scored on a 73-yard run.
