Victoria Mall's runway show on Saturday will be all about the latest fall fashions; from the blouse on the model's back down to the dog by her side.

Yes - the dog.

Maurices, a Victoria Mall clothing store, will host its second annual Rescues and Runways Fashion Show. It will benefit Adopt-A-Pet.

"It's very important, considering we have so many dogs and cats that need help," said Lyndsey Tate, Maurices manager.

The pets will also be donned in costumes, however those outfits are not from Maurices.

Pets featured in the show will be up for adoption. Photos and information on other adoptable pets will also be available, Tate said.

Those not interested in adoption can also leave donations to help Adopt-A-Pet continually care for its animals.

Last year, the show raised $600, Tate said.

Through September, the Maurices store will accept pet supplies and monetary donations that will go to Adopt-A-Pet.

In turn, the store will give a 20 percent discount on any one regular priced item, Tate said.

To help on a national level, the store will also be selling Friends for Life charms to help benefit the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Tate said.

The charms cost $5 and $2.50 will be donated to the society, she added.

"I think it's a really neat cause," she said.
