Have you ever wanted to be a kid again, even if it is just for a couple of hours?

Well, the Parks and Recreation Department is offering adult kickball and softball once again this fall.

Playing kickball is your opportunity to take some stress off your shoulders or take some frustrations out on a ball. Either way you will have fun with other big kids this fall.

Registration for kickball and softball is underway and the deadline is Monday. Teams will play eight games for only $200. That is $25 per game to have a great time with friends and family.

Contact the Parks and Recreation office for more information.

Registration for the Lighted Christmas Parade is right around the corner beginning on Oct. 1. There will not be any theme as we have had in the past. I think we used them all up. So, it is wide open this year, use your imagination and creativity.

The Lighted Christmas Parade will take place at the community center due to construction in downtown Victoria.

Parade festivities will begin at 6 p.m. on Dec. 4.

Parade registration forms will be available beginning on Oct. 1, at www.victoriatx.org. Go to the Parks and Recreation pages and look for Lighted Christmas Parade.

Fall Market Days begins next month on Oct. 16. Numerous vendors have already signed up.

If you are interested in becoming a vendor please contact the parks office for more details or go to our website www.victoriatx.org/parks/marketdays2010.asp for more information.

Come on out to the October Market Days and find that special gift. Most vendors will try to find what you need. All you have to do is ask.

Market Days will be held in Riverside Park next to Riverside Stadium beginning at 9 a.m. on Oct. 16.
